About this Role:
This is a key role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining financial reporting controls in alignment with SOX requirements and internal control best practices. This position partners closely with finance, risk, IT, and operational stakeholders across the company’s global operations to strengthen the internal control environment and support effective financial governance.
A key component of the role includes contributing to the organization’s ERP transformation initiative involving the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, with a focus on control design, risk assessments, and process improvements. The successful candidate will support process walkthroughs and documentation updates, including process flow diagrams, narratives, and Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), while helping drive automation and efficiency across the control environment.
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in internal controls, financial reporting governance, and SOX compliance. They combine technical expertise with strong communication skills, enabling them to partner effectively with stakeholders across the business. A proactive mindset, analytical rigor, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications include:
CPA designation, ideally with prior experience at a Big Four accounting firm
5+ years of post-qualification experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, or financial reporting governance
Deep understanding of SOX legislation and internal controls over financial reporting, including PCAOB standards
Strong experience with SAP processes and internal control frameworks, including familiarity with GRC concepts
Experience developing process flow diagrams, process narratives, and Risk Control Matrices (RCMs)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly
Compensation & Benefits:
This role offers a competitive base salary in the range of CAD $115,000 – $145,000, along with the opportunity to work within a global organization recognized for operational excellence and strong corporate governance. The position also includes a performance-based bonus, comprehensive benefits program and opportunities for professional growth.
