About our Client
Founded on Vancouver Island in 1987, Maximizer has evolved from an early contact management software company into an established global provider of customer relationship management solutions.
Over nearly four decades, Maximizer has supported more than 100,000 customers and 1 million users worldwide. Today, it is one of the few CRM providers able to deploy its software on-premise, through private cloud environments, or through shared cloud solutions, with access across desktop, mobile, and the Maximizer app.
Over the past 18 months, Maximizer has sharpened its market focus around financial services and wealth management, while continuing to evolve its CRM platform through AI and technology innovation. The company believes strongly that its success depends on its people and seeks self-motivated team players who value creativity, professional development, integrity, open communication, and a performance-driven environment.
About this Role
Reporting jointly into senior leadership, the Director, Sales & Marketing is a hands-on commercial leadership role responsible for running Maximizer’s Sales and Marketing functions and driving execution across the full revenue funnel.
This is a true player-coach opportunity. Broader corporate and revenue strategy is established by executive leadership, and this individual will turn that direction into disciplined execution across demand generation, pipeline creation, conversion, bookings, and revenue.
The Director will lead the sales team while remaining actively involved in strategic opportunities, from prospecting and discovery through demonstrations, negotiations, and closing. Business partner and channel management is a key part of the mandate, with indirect partner relationships representing a meaningful portion of Maximizer’s business.
The Director will also run Maximizer’s marketing team. Marketing delivery is split between digital marketing supported by the agency and event marketing managed internally by Maximizer. This person will connect marketing activity to measurable commercial outcomes, manage resources with financial discipline, and work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Finance to improve execution across the customer lifecycle.
This is a hybrid, position in downtown Vancouver.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the day-to-day Sales and Marketing functions and deliver against demand generation, pipeline, conversion, bookings, and revenue targets
Remain hands-on throughout the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations, and closing
Translate Maximizer’s established go-to-market direction into practical territory plans, account priorities, partner strategies, marketing priorities, activity expectations, and measurable targets
Coach and develop the sales team through pipeline reviews, call coaching, deal strategy, performance feedback, and clear accountability
Own sales forecasting and pipeline management while maintaining strong Maximizer CRM discipline, accurate reporting, and a clear view of funnel performance
Lead the marketing team across two delivery streams: digital marketing supported by the agency and event marketing managed internally, with clear budget discipline and accountability for results
Own and strengthen business partner and channel relationships, ensuring indirect sales channels are actively managed, supported, and developed as a key source of revenue
Work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Finance to support customer handoffs, expansion opportunities, commercial planning, budgeting, and coordinated execution
Provide market, partner, and customer feedback that improves messaging, positioning, lead quality, product insight, and overall commercial performance
Represent Maximizer credibly with customers, prospects, business partners, agency partners, and senior business leaders
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of progressive B2B sales or commercial experience, including at least 3 years leading or coaching a sales team, ideally within B2B SaaS, CRM, or another complex technology environment. A demonstrated track record of delivery is more important than a specific academic or certification background.
They will have a demonstrated history of personally carrying a quota, closing complex opportunities, and leading teams to meet or exceed sales targets. A true player-coach, this individual will be comfortable moving between team leadership and hands-on selling. They do not need to be a career marketer, but they must be comfortable leading marketing resources, setting priorities, managing agency relationships and budgets, and connecting marketing activity to commercial outcomes.
The successful candidate will bring strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, sales metrics, CRM discipline, and sales execution. They will know how to coach salespeople, improve performance, strengthen accountability, and create consistency across the sales process. Experience managing business partner or channel relationships is particularly important. Ideally, the successful candidate will come from the financial services or wealth management industry and bring a strong understanding of the market, its clients, buying behaviours, and the challenges these organizations are trying to solve.
Strong communication and executive presence will also be important, but this role requires a strong listener and executor as much as a presenter. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, pragmatic, low-ego, and comfortable working within an established strategic direction while navigating multiple senior stakeholders. They will be equally comfortable operating at a high level and getting into the details of individual deals, funnel metrics, campaign performance, and budgets.
Strong technology fluency is expected. Candidates should be able to quickly understand CRM platforms, financial-services integrations, AI-enabled tools, and the broader technology environment in which Maximizer’s customers operate. Experience with Maximizer CRM, HubSpot, or comparable CRM, marketing automation, and sales enablement platforms would be valuable.
